Structural features of sheep farms in Ordu province

This study was carried out to determine the structural characteristics of sheep breeding, herd owners, and general breeding enterprises in Ordu province by survey method. There are 1883 farms Ordu, it has been determined that 1116 (59.27%) these farms, number is below 100 heads, animals per farm, general, varies between 1-3242 average farm 102 heads. The data were obtained from 76 selected according stratified sampling method among or more farms. Of breeders surveyed, 59.21% graduated primary school, 14.47% secondary 22.36% high school 3.95 bachelor degrees. It level education does not make a difference production, management, attempt do additional work (2=9.666, P=0.139). In study, 26.3% owners engaged as source livelihood, while remaining 73.7% involved together with other business areas. conclusion, education, experience, age, status effective on size flock, lambs ewe, lamb survivability management As result, for reach profitable, innovative sustainable situation province, those less than should be encouraged increase problem finding shepherd resolved.
